Love Don't Cost a Thing

Image
The other day I saw what I can call a hilarious picture on Facebook; a fuel station had put up a sign that read; “Avoid girlfriends, it will save you 90% on petrol.” During these hard times, tips to save money are highly welcome, but this particular one was a bit weird. I shared it with my pal who agreed that girlfriends are costly. He pointed out that since he broke up with his ex-girlfriend, his bank account has been solid and his fuel expenses have dropped. I concur with him; love is expensive. Ever since I stopped dating, I’ve cut down on a lot- I definitely no longer get a new wardrobe for a date, manicure, salon visits or taxi fares. If you are to take JLo’s ‘Love Don’t Cost a Thing’ then you are completely mistaken. True Love is free but the steps in between are really expensive, like dates, dinner, movies, gifts, engagement rings and weddings. Is it still free? It costs you emotionally and financially, too. You must care for the loved ones and it is at this point that yo...

"Good Man"

Most women complain how tricky it is to find a good man because so many single men try to be someone they are not. If you don’t look deep enough you will be duped to believe the guy is genuine only to fall for a guy with qualities you can’t stand. I had a pep talk with my pastor last weekend and he re...

Found this intresting piece and couldnt agree more                                             ARE YOU DRIFTING AWAY FROM GOD Most Christians don’t suddenly fall into terrible sin. A guy doesn’t simply wake up one day and say to himself, “Boy, today is a great day to start a raging heroin habit,” or, “You know what, I’m in the mood to commit adultery today.” That’s not how it happens. Big sin is always the sum of a thousand tiny choices. That’s why the author of Hebrews says: Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it . (Hebrews 2:1) One of our greatest temptations as Christians is simply to drift away from Christ. We’re not actively running away, just slowly drifting along with the lazy, warm, comfortable curr...
