The system Works!!

The System....... Its such a pity that society and circumstances have led me to actually believe that to get things done in this country you need to know someone. We have been led to believe that its not about your qualifications, legitimacy or the truth ; its about who you know and what you have. Need a job in a certain organisation? You need to know someone in the organisation first or atleast know the HR or someone close to the HR. Need to get your child into a certain school? You need to know someone at the school or a parent at the school to refer you. Need a tender? You better know someone or atleast have money to dish around. This disease is believed to have encroached even into our legal and judicial system where it doesnt matter whether you are guilty or innocent, your verdict will be based on how much you have and who you know. The innocent rot in jail while the guilty walk around shopping and globetrotting. The levels of corrupti...

Its FURAHIDAY!!!

Its finally Friday, I'm a believer of the motto "work hard, play hard", you've worked hard this week, you gave it your all, and you deserve to have a calm and relaxing Friday, so I've compiled a small list of things you can do this weekend  and allow you to enjoy yourself and who knows what more, so make sure to Carpe Diem this Friday and have blast friends! 1. Tehilla : The week has been cantakarous for some of us, busy busy with lots of expectations. I guess the first order of business this Friday is head for  Tehilla in Mbezi Beach Park , worship and praise my God before i do anything. He loves and sustains me; He comes first. Pastor Isaac is also continuing with the teaching on the process (for those who were at the women of virtue conference). 2. Movie time : Come on when was the last time you were at the movie? I bet its been ages but just because you have a 3D tv, a super hometheatre and access to the latest movie doesnt mean you forget about th...

Love Don't Cost a Thing

Image
The other day I saw what I can call a hilarious picture on Facebook; a fuel station had put up a sign that read; “Avoid girlfriends, it will save you 90% on petrol.” During these hard times, tips to save money are highly welcome, but this particular one was a bit weird. I shared it with my pal who agreed that girlfriends are costly. He pointed out that since he broke up with his ex-girlfriend, his bank account has been solid and his fuel expenses have dropped. I concur with him; love is expensive. Ever since I stopped dating, I’ve cut down on a lot- I definitely no longer get a new wardrobe for a date, manicure, salon visits or taxi fares. If you are to take JLo’s ‘Love Don’t Cost a Thing’ then you are completely mistaken. True Love is free but the steps in between are really expensive, like dates, dinner, movies, gifts, engagement rings and weddings. Is it still free? It costs you emotionally and financially, too. You must care for the loved ones and it is at this point that yo...

"Good Man"

Image
Every woman wants a prince for a man but how many women do you know who have dated and even married men they thought were good only to find out later that they were not? Most men know and appreciate qualities in a woman that make her a wife material and will be on the lookout for qualities like kindness, supportiveness, and caring nature. Women on the other side have a misconstrued perception of the qualities to look for in a man; some go for looks, material possession, personality and the likes. The result is that many women end up in unhappy marriages The truth is that the education level, money, car or career says nothing of a man’s ability to make a good husband or boyfriend. Most women complain how tricky it is to find a good man because so many single men try to be someone they are not. If you don’t look deep enough you will be duped to believe the guy is genuine only to fall for a guy with qualities you can’t stand. I had a pep talk with my pastor last weekend and he re...

Found this intresting piece and couldnt agree more                                             ARE YOU DRIFTING AWAY FROM GOD Most Christians don’t suddenly fall into terrible sin. A guy doesn’t simply wake up one day and say to himself, “Boy, today is a great day to start a raging heroin habit,” or, “You know what, I’m in the mood to commit adultery today.” That’s not how it happens. Big sin is always the sum of a thousand tiny choices. That’s why the author of Hebrews says: Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it . (Hebrews 2:1) One of our greatest temptations as Christians is simply to drift away from Christ. We’re not actively running away, just slowly drifting along with the lazy, warm, comfortable curr...
